Word for 2026
process inspired by The Desire Map
Many years ago I came across The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte, the central idea being not necessarily what you want to do but how you want to feel. When I read this I realised it gave me more scope for my life than being tied to doing XYZ and then being disappointed at the end of the year by what I hadn’t achieved.
There’s been a lot of changes in my life this last couple of years, my health hasn’t been good, and I am starting a new chapter with how and where I work. I feel I am finally on a better path and have a hopeful heart for 2026.
I wanted something creative and abundant yet also a word which would guide me to take care of myself, live a slower more deliberate life, share my knowledge and talents with others in ways that will make our world a brighter place. So I chose this word …
Luminous Manifesto
I choose to glow from within.
I create with curiosity and ease.
My energy is precious, and I protect it.
I welcome abundance that feels aligned and spacious.
I nourish my body and honour my energy.
I move through the year with clarity, softness, and intention.
I let my life be a warm, steady, creative light.
I am choosing 2026 to be a luminous year - warm, creative, abundant, healthy.
How do you want to feel in 2026? And if you get the book may I suggest the audio version because she’s Canadian and has such a soothing voice.

I am totally stealing the concept of writing a manifesto for my words x
That's such a great word, and the Desire Map is something new to me - definitely going to check that out.
